Finding staff an issue for 2011

BRW has identified that recruitment will be one of the major challenges for companies during 2011.

With regards to SMEs finding the right staff will be keeping company founders awake at nights with 95% of SME planning to hire more staff during the next 12 months.

Owners and Managers within the Finance sector in particular say that their #1 challenge over the next 12 months will be finding and retaining staff. Salaries are expected to be increased to help retain existing staff and emphasis will be placed on ways to find and attract new staff.

Reducing the cost of recruitment will also be a major consideration during 2011. Further increases in internal recruitment are likely. During 2010 we saw larger enterprise establishing internal recruitment teams and this trend is likely to continue during 2011.

Sports clothing sales support - you will BeFound!

We currently have a Brisbane-based client desperately looking to fill a Sales Support Role. They have requested loads of profile, but keep missing out as other employers have snapped up almost everyone they are interested in.

They are an international Designer and Supplier of team sport garments and are look for someone who can:

• Assist with general office duties
• Answer customer enquiries
• Process & check orders
• Pick stock
• Design kit when requested
• PowerPoint presentations,
• Use Adobe Illustrator for drawing/design of garments
• Process payments via EFTPOS.

They are looking for someone who is willing to ‘go above and beyond’ and have a flexible attitude towards workload and tasks where no task is too large or too small. Some extra hours may be required where they do merchandising at events for their major customers. Experience in a design background and familiarity with the Microsoft and Adobe (Illustrator) suites of products highly regarded.

Previous experience in sports clothing design and/or sales would be a huge advantage.
